Vanessa Fawcett

I prefer to paint mostly in Oil.  I have trained unconventionally at various schools of Art and under direction to include acclaimed artists Annie Newlands and Ron Freeborn.  I now live in North Cornwall and sketching the local area is my daily practice during the mornings. In the afternoons I paint from my sketches at home in my studio.

During the warmer months I enjoy painting Seascapes and  Landscapes, en plain air when the weather allows.  

In the winter I enjoy painting from life in my studio.

Recently I've been giving portrait workshops in school. I've concentrated on teaching the students how to construct a basic 3D structure of the head and taught them what to look for. I have been very impressed with the results - proving that anyone can draw a portrait with the right know how!
